Permit Prices
The use of any posted parking facilities (except metered spaces that do not require a special permit and pay lots during regulated hours) requires the purchase and display of an appropriate parking permit. Overnight guests visiting campus residence hall students must purchase a permit from the Office of Parking and Transportation. Visitors arriving after office hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) must secure a temporary parking permit from the Illinois State University Police Department located in the Nelson Smith Building and comply with the parking allowance stated on the permit.

Parking permit costs and refunds are pro-rated monthly according to this schedule.
Termination of Employment
- Individuals who terminate their employment with the University become ineligible for employee parking and must return their employee parking permit to our office. Parking permits assigned to terminated employees will be revoked and if found on campus the vehicle will be subject to citation and immediate tow.
- Retirees must elect the retiree permit (if eligible) and return their employee permit. Retiree employee permits will be revoked and if found on campus the vehicle will be subject to citation and immediate tow.
- Employees on a leave of absence who selected payroll deduction and desire to keep their parking permission in force must continue to pay for their permits during their leave. Our office will notify you via your ISU email what is required of you in this circumstance. Please contact our office if you have questions about this process.
- If, at any time, individuals who elected payroll deduction do not have sufficient payroll to pay for their parking permit, the permit will be revoked. Those individuals must contact our office for payment options. Please contact our office if you have questions about this process.
25 Year Employees
University Faculty and Staff who have earned 25 years of service (prior to August 31 of the year that permits are available) are eligible for a complimentary Faculty/Staff permit, or may apply the cost of a Faculty/Staff permit toward the purchase of a All Garage Reserved Zone permit, or a Reserved Space permit if they currently have a reserved space. If you are eligible, this option will come up when you sign in to purchase your parking permission. This status is verified through Human Resources. Employees who believe they qualify by August 31, but do not see this option in the purchase portal should contact Human Resources. This reduction is not prorated or adjusted during the year, but available at the beginning of each year only of parking permit sales.
Payroll Deduction for Parking Permit Payments
Full time employees, non-tenure track faculty, and graduate assistants employed by the University may participate in payroll deduction for the cost of their permit purchase. Participation in payroll deduction is voluntary. Employees may choose not to participate in payroll deduction and pay for their permit in full at the time of election. See the deduction schedule for monthly amounts. Note the amounts are deducted from September to May. Employees purchasing at other times will pay for their permit in full at the time of election.
If, at any time, individuals who elected payroll deduction do not have sufficient payroll to pay for their parking permit, the permit will be revoked. Those individuals must contact our office for payment options.
